1994 - 2002 Draughtsman for Design & Valuation Services Ltd.
Worked
on a variety of projects doing the layout and schematics. These included the
boiler room layout and As-built drawings of the Piped Services for Douglas
Pharmaceuticals (1995). Another project was for Sofrana Unilines designing the
heating coils and hot water plant room for Coconut oil heating tanks (1996).
I
worked on contract to Predict NZ Ltd who specialized in Process Engineering for
the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Food Manufacturing Industries. During my time
here I was introduced to and learnt 3D modeling.
On
contract to Anvil Design Group (1996) I started to take an interest in the Electrical
field while working designs for Supermarkets, Petrol Stations and Warehousing
developments. During this time I was promoted to CAD Manager and designing the
Electrical side of small projects for Starbucks (NZ). Also I was attending
design meetings and doing site inspections for various jobs.
Anvil
Design Group had the contract with ECS for all their draughting work. In 2003/4
the situation changed within ECS and I was offered the position of CAD Manager
on staff. It was after this that I became more involved with some of the larger
projects where I was able to do cable calculations and if required tweak the
design to fit in the requirements.
